continuation-St Simon's to Myrtle Beach

I think internet had the final say , so the whole story didn't go out when it showed disconnect. We tried to add photos and that didn't work either. so let's hope we can put it together now.
Yesterdays travels brought us up the intracoastal waterways to a marina near Southport, North Carolina.
Going back to May 10.-Savannah was great. Friday the 11 we biked to Wormsloe-.This historical site that dates back to 1730's ,boasted the longest lane of live oaks in the world. It's museum with movie and the ruins told the story of  the settlers esp. the Jones family and all they offered.. Sat. we took the bus to Savannah and enjoyed it's history as they tell it in the many squares[parks]How the Revs. John Wesley and George Whitefield  and many others played a role in the lives of the developement of Savannah. Among the many beautiful churches we found the Independant Presbyterian Church . That is where we were able to worship on Sunday. and a blessing it was.
Monday was the start of our intracoastal waterways[ICW} experience. This meant watching tide tables , currents with the ebb and flow, bridges-[ swing, bascule and fixed ]Now the fixed bridges are marked at 65' but the tide levels can of course vary these heights. With our antennae we needed 65 ft .We also had to watch markers to avoid skinny waters.and these waters are no longer ocean blue but river 'brown'. Our first stop was Beaufort,a pretty historical town. This is where we saw the boat'Hippo' with a Canadian, and a small Dutch and Amsterdam flag. Their home is Burlington ,On.We soon met Jan and Diane. After anchoring out one night we made it to Charleston-- another highlight -so much history and many antebellum homes. We took a tourbus through the city and learned more about the history and architecture.
On our way north we were nearing a fixed bridge in high tide. A  boat'Pegasus' also with a 65 ft. mast warned us to wait. So we both anchored in a safe spot near Georgetown to wait for the waters to go down. Dean and Nancy  emailled  us sheets with info on all the bridges. What a resource! Especially yesterday -we did 16 bridges[swing and mostly fixed].Our antennae didn't even twig the bridges anywhere..Thank you Dean and Nancy.
From Georgetown we made it to a quiet little marina surrounded by forest - Osprey marina.Enjoyed beautiful sunny weather and a restful peaceful Sunday and anniversary.God is good!   u tube video showed the Ottawa contingent of our family celebrating  this event. Thank you all! This marina is about 30 miles inland from the ocean and Myrtle Beach.
It's Tuesday May 22 and we will be moving on soon.May this be a successful post.
